She is the hottest female rising star in track and field in the Caribbean. Born in Mount Vernon, New York on February 15, 1987 to Vivian and Valerie Blake with a sibling Duane Blake, 8 years her senior. She was raised in Kingston Jamaica where Dominique received her fundamentals in academics and athletics at an early age in prep school. She attended St. Peter & Paul Prep and Hillel Academy. Both schools are located in Kingston Jamaica. Throughout her years of living in Jamaica Dominique was very athletic and always appeared to have a love for running.

She took this attitude and made it her mantra as an adolescent and through to adulthood. Migrating from Kingston, Jamaica in 1999, Dominique attended High school in the Bronx, New York. At age 13 she became an all star athlete in track and field. Her coach Maritza Osorio realized the youngster’s talent very early and groomed her to become the best in the nation. She was recruited by virtually every university in the country. She earned a full scholarship to Penn state University, where she was also a stand out athlete and became an all American, multiple conference champion, national champion and school record holder.

Her parents encouraged her to be the very best at whatever she did. Whether it was sports or her schooling, it was always important for them to know she was giving her very best effort and also enjoying what she was participating in. Her father Vivian, who is a well know public figure in Jamaica, played a major role in her upbringing and the woman she is today. Many perceive him to be a gangster or leader of the most feared, world renowned, organized crime unit, Shower Posse. To most, he was an answer to poverty stricken youths, families and communities in Jamaica’s less fortunate areas.

A man of principle, prestige, heart and love for his family, Vivian always instilled and preached the importance of success, will and determination to his daughter. A strong love and loyalty grew between them. Dominique made it her goal in life to be successful at whatever she did, not only for herself but for her family too. Any career field she decides to embark on whether it be track and field or her own company Black Knight Investment Ltd. (micro finance), her main aim is to be successful and to make her parents proud. Dominique now balances being a philanthropist, director/CEO of Black Knight and Professional Track and Field athlete.
